EBTA versus WBTA

Just out of interest, is there a reason you prefer one to the other.

We've booked our first TA for next May on the Dream, the EBTA, for us we prefer this as assume we'll be acclimatised by the time we arrive back home having adjusted bit by bit, I also enjoy the outbound flight, but find the red eye a killer, so the EBTA made sense for us.

Just curious as to why people choose each route

Having done both. I prefer the WBTA over the EBTA. I like gaining the extra hour. Plus when you get to the USA you are not jet lagged.

I wish we had time to spend in the US, we're doing 2 nights on Miami beach then cruising back.

DH is so restricted with annual leave at 5 weeks a year.

We’ve booked next year’s WBTA simply because we’re free in September and not May. But as far as flights go, the eastbound makes more sense. Maybe we’ll do it in 2024.

I've only done the EBTA so far and do like the fact you get back without the jet lag. I can't say I really noticed the loss of the 5 hours over the course of the cruise. Doing a WBTA in September and we're only staying in New York for one night afterwards so not looking forward to the flight home.

Done both and much prefer the EBTA simply for the lack of jet lag coming home! Not having to spend a week recovering and trying to get back in a routine for work etc is so much easier.

The downside is the that the weather gets worse as you get closer to home (although one cruise the best weather we had was in Liverpool!)

Not sure as not done either, but just popped on to say we are also on the EBTA next May

For me, it was not having to fly home and the associated jet lag that swung it for me. I don't mind flying out but HATE flying back.

We are doing a few days in Orlando first and then driving down, like your DH we don't have much annual leave either!

There are a few of us on this cruise, we'll have to have a little meet up. Are you on the cruise group page?
