Disabled parking.
Now I have this officially in writing, no Florida permit for us.. this came from the manager of said department
“ Good morning, Florida recognizes parking permits displaying the international symbol of accessibility that has been issued by any foreign country. You can use your out of country placard and are not required to purchase a temporary placard here “ |

My husband had a blue badge for his disability. So you can park anywhere, well obviously not where you please but you get my drift.

Be very cautious when parking anywhere other than theme parks because their have been comments that some officers aren’t aware our blue badges are allowed to be used and are ticketing vehicles or even attempting to tow them away!
For the sake of visiting a tax office for a quick 15 min appt and paying $15 is it worth taking the risk of a hefty fine and the disruption and stress that may cause.

I understand that, while that’s the official line, some people had found it wasn’t always the case on the ground.
I’ve heard stories of people using their blue badges at the outlets or malls etc offsite and getting tickets or being towed away. We won’t have chance to get a florida permit now you have to go in person so at offsite places I’ll either drop my son off with his dad at the entrance and go park the car or valet park so we’re closer to the door. |

We’re in the US now and have been hanging the blue case my badge is in from the rear view mirror and placing my badge on the dashboard.
If ticketed is it placed under the wiper like at home? I tried many times to get the Florida red tag to no avail and finally was emailed saying we didn’t need one, and have just done above in NC, SC, Tennessee and now Georgia on our road trip. Admittedly mainly been parking outside hotels and restaurants. |

Do you know these people personally? Or as I suspect these stories get exaggerated?
