Mobile Marco Island with teens

Hi, we're planning our trip and we're going to have 7 days st the beach. We've stayed in lots of places from New Port Richey down to Naples. We've a few places in our shortlist in Marco Island, but is it ok with teen kids or just too quiet?

It's Tigertail Beach if that's helpful for feedback? Looks lovely.

Thanks for any help.

Not a big fan of Tigertail Beach...you have a long walk or a walk across a waist deep lagoon (not sure what is in there but we were petrified. Beach itself is full of shells and not soft sand like Naples or AMI... I think other Marco Island beaches are private and are few residents or hotel guests use.

That's a "how long is a piece of string" question. It depends how much you need to be entertained.

Fair enough. We liked Naples last year, thought we'd look for same but different if that makes sense. Quiet, nice home, nice restraunts but cinema or shops if we want to break the week up.

Have you thought of Ft Myers or Cape Coral - huge Malls and waterfront restaurants, great beaches, bowling alleys, cinemas, piers and loads for kids to do.

We go to Marco every winter - even having an extra trip this Easter as we love it. I have a 12 year old who enjoys it but it's really dependant on what your kids are into. Fishing trips, tennis, kayaking and trips to the Everglades are just a few things we do. We also take bike rides around the island rather than having to drive everywhere.

We always hire a villa that backs onto a canal so we can kayak and ds and dh can fish.

Tiger tail beach does have a lagoon which you can walk through but you can also take the longer walk around and the beach at the south of the island is wider.

There are some lovely restaurants on the island, tiki bars and grocery stores - For decent mall type shops you would need to drive to Naples but honestly we love the island life.

Thanks, that's really helpful. We've 2 villas and loads of condos on Tigertail shortlisted. I think we'll go for it.

We stayed in a fab condo just over the Naples Causeway called Hammock Bay. We used Tigertail with the grandkids for the play park and even rented a pedalo on the lagoon😂
