Christmas Party thingy..!
Hi All
I have a question... The Christmas event is back this year. I've heard it being referred to as Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party but also as Mickey's Christmas After Hours event. So which is it? Has the MVMCP been replaced by an After Hours thing? And what is the difference between the two - if any? TIA Kat |

It is mvmcp this year with a full parade full stageshow fireworks and meet and greats with rare charactors the after hour event last year was shorter with less going on however less tickets were sold so more chance of walk on rides.
I'm sure someone with come on and explain much better than me though |

Mickey's Christmas After Hours event was the name of the temporary event last year. It was a cut down version of the normal Christmas party and was actually more like the After Hours events Disney used to have at various times through the year. They'd keep the park and some rides open for select guests who bought an After Hours ticket There's usually no special parade or fireworks at the After Hours events. There's usually far less tickets for these events, so the park is reasonably empty (for Disney anyway). Disney held this cut down After Hours version due to the pandemic because they weren't sure what the situation would be. With less people it meant some social distancing could still be employed.
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is the regular Christmas party that Disney usually holds every year (except when the pandemic was in full swing). It has a themed parade, special stage shows, Christmas fireworks, meet'n'greets. It's less about having a reduced number of people in the park so that people have no waits at the rides like the After Hours event. It's more about enjoying the Christmas party vibe. It'll also be busier than the After Hours event. This year it's back to being the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party.

Thank you for your replies
I'm pondering booking the 18th December as a treat for my Christmas mad DS14. I guess Disney is now 'land of the busy' regardless of when you go. We do actually have MK booked for that day anyway - could be a good day to go. Just hoping... ...that it won't be uber busy! |

Disney is busy nowadays and around Christmas time tends to be really busy.
Having said that, MK tends to be less busier earlier in the day on party days compared to other days. So it may not be uber busy in the day on the 18th Dec. Maybe.

Well, the sneaky little deed has been done
Booked for the 18th Won't necessarily do rope drop, but we'll go for the whole day...take a break mid afternoon, grab an early dinner Any suggestions of where to go? |
