MCO Terminal C - Questions, Answers, and hints/tips

In advance of BA's move to MCO Terminal C I thought it a good idea to start a thread for the inevitable questions that will arise from the move.

Firstly here's a link to the MCO airport information (correct as of 8 July 2022) - so a good place to start for general information.

orlandoairports/getting-...co/terminal-c/

This is taken from the South Terminal Information Sheet which was issued whilst the terminal was being built indicating what should be on offer. We will find out if Terminal C delivers very soon.

HIGHLIGHTS
THE INNOVATIVE STC (South Terminal Complex) FEATURES:
• 100% automated screening lanes in TSA checkpoint
• 100% facial recognition for international arrival
and departures
• A new method for arriving international passengers
to get their “Bags First” and expedite processing
for Customs and Border Protection in the Federal
Inspection Services (CBP/FIS)
• State-of-the-art Radio Frequency
Identifcation Technology (RFID) Tote
Baggage Handling System implemented
throughout for effcient tracking and
expedited function
• Simultaneous international and domestic
gate arrival operations
• Virtual ramp control for aircraft operations
• The first fully integrated, multi-modal airport
terminal in the U.S. for rail-air-ground transportation

IN ADDITION, the terminal offers a top-level customer
arrival experience that immediately connects passengers to
the culture of Central Florida, including:
• Large-scale interactive digital media
as part of an imaginative visual experience
• Indoor and outdoor green spaces promoting
sustainability
• Numerous amenities: shops, restaurants
and club/lounge facilities

I also noticed the following about an "early bag system" but I'm not reading too much into it because the number of bags it is supposed to handle is only 1800 - Early Bag Storage robotic system with 1,800 bag capacity – MCO is the only airport in the world to deploy the full system

I will update the first couple of posts once we get confirmed reports from Dibbers using Terminal C.

It may be useful if any Dibbers are travelling to/from MCO starting 19th September onwards I'll add a list in this post so we know to watch out for their updates.

I'll condense questions into this post:-

Dates Dibbers are travelling to give reports of how the terminal works for them

How does arrival, baggage pick up and immigration work?

Car hire pick up and drop off?

Visitor Travel Pass pick up (had to include that one for Mick )

What eating facilities are available landside and airside for departing passengers?

What Lounge facilities will be available for eligible passengers?

Will Global Entry IOA's be available?

Are there plenty of trollies in rental car return Sides A and B (Mick's particularly interested in B )

Can you take them on the APM to/from terminal C?

Some answers will be available on the link above but it isn't quite the same as Dibb reports.

I’ll add a question here which I asked on the other thread; will there be a BA business class lounge?

Can I start Stanley as we've already "chatted" and my comments are really only what I've gleaned from the MCO web site.

1. It appears that you claim baggage before immigration.

2. I don't see any reference to car hire collection or return nor, more importantly, collecting the VTP tag. So I'm assuming there's no facilities at C and you have to use A or B as before.

3. If you go to the main MCO web site and look for eating you can filter restaurants at C by location.

Mick

Unlikely to have a dedicated Club Lounge the number of flights per day don't justify it but we will need to see what other arrangements are made.

This is the "new" terminal that originally (back pre economic crash of 08) that Virgin were going to part finance and have their own lounge etc - all that went that way of their ordered A380's etc

MCO currently still "negotiating" with International airlines to use terminal C in addition to Jet Blue.

Oh and the train is already running between C and the main concourse - managed to see it a couple of weeks ago - in between the torrential downpour en route to a 4 hour delay...

22nd September. Not impressed. This means I'm going to have to make an excuse to get the first ride of the trip in before leaving the airport now (VTP might just be that excuse)...

Another very important question. Does Mayor Buddy Dyer still welcome you if you land in Terminal C?

I rode the APM over to Terminal C car park and back whilst collecting a friend in April from the main terminal - something to relieve the boredom of waiting at International arrivals.

It's - well err um an APM.
