yes according to the FT anyway - a 'technical recession' so not $2 to the £ but may help a little on the exchange rate ft/content/8e4caa59-...6-e494369900dc

Dollar has weakened a bit, may still continue a bit more. I think we are very far from 2 for 1 however

The announcement by the bank of england on thursday will push things in either direction for the pound, hopefully the right way for us

Summary of what I’ve said in a previous thread;

The US has entered a recession by most countries definition (except their own currently lol).

This pushed the GBP to USD to get back to the circa 1.20.

If Bank of England raise the rate by .5% like the rest of Europe vs the more conservative move of .25% they done previously, then we could see 1.25+.

Wouldn’t get your hopes up passed 1.30 but I’m no expert.

Absolutely 100% the best advice. If anyone could forecast this accurately they would be a billionaire.

Also a lot of the big banks will release info on what they think. Again they all have vested interests.

Fingers crossed we get some sort of bounce this week.

I'll take 1.3 it might not be great but it gives me a couple hundred extra dollars to play with.

So if BOE do nothing would that make the rate against the $ go down or stay the same?

It's practically impossible to predict at least by the likes of us who have zero influence, I'd take 1.30 in a month or so now.
