Is cocoa beach worth a visit please?

Could anyone tell me if it's worth booking a night off resort to stay in Cocoa beach and the best things to do there please?

We went last year and had a nice day. We didn't book a hotel, but did a day trip from Orlando. There's a nice pier with a couple of restaurants, we had a lovely lunch looking out onto the sea and then spent a while on the beach, we hired a couple of loungers and the kids played in the water. I personally wouldn't want to go for any longer than a day trip, we prefer the Gulf Coast and will go there instead on our next trip. The drive down was cool, driving over some cool bridges and stuff. We went in August and obviously it was super hot.

The pier does look nice and the beach looks great. We go end of August and just fancy a day or so away from the parks. There is a zoo nearby which looks pretty good and we some free night stays at any Doubletree to use up 😂

If you are going up there, and like wildlife, check out merrit island wildlife reserve on the web. We did the drive, to see the birds, abd went down to the dock to see the manatees, as well as boardwalk near the visitor cenre.

We usually go to Alan Shepard beach. There's parking, changing rooms, showers, picnic benches under cover, restaurants and bar. Very convenient and possibly closest.

I read about Lori Wilson Park it's free parking but gets packed and cars park everywhere blocking each other in,so I will have a look at Alan Shepard beach now thank you for the suggestion
