Painting garage floor advice

Now that I have finished the garage doors, would like to attempt repainting the garage floor.

We have got the paint, but what other equipment should we get please? Roller? Brushes? Best technique? Please help before I am knee deep in gloss!

Best tip don’t park a Land Rover on top of the paint for at least 2 weeks 😂 I had lovely painted tyres after I left it for only a week.

I would use a cheap and cheerful roller and tray from Wilko and then sling it.

Maybe a 9" one or even better a 12" one albeit they are hard to find.

I'd also suggest a cheap roller on a long pole. Absolutely no need to use a roller on your knees or bending down

Same as I used to put the sealer on my sandstone patio.

Thanks all! No worries about a land rover, we dont have one! We also dont even use garage for our cars, just lawn mower and bikes, and junk!

Normal floor paint will almost certainly lift over time. You really need an epoxy "paint".
Personally, unless your floor is perfect (pretty much new), any paint will be difficult.
Mine is only a year old and am flipping between and epoxy or plastic tiles.

My mate has just done his with rubber tiles from Halfords. These are much too soft for me as I do a lot of garage work, so I am looking at very hard plastic tiles.

It really depends on the finish and longevity you want. And how much you want to spend.
For me, tiles will likely be worth the cost and will be a forever job.

i did mine last year, i got a wire brush drill attachment to skim over the existing paint on the floor and get up any flaky bits. after this, i brushed, then mopped the floor to get up all the paint residue. it then was applied with a big cheap paint roller. after the first coat was dry, i went over again, but kinda lightly, which left a slightly rough texture to the paint, which helps with grip when its wet.

i used wilko grey floor paint, and it's great (and was half the price of the dulux equivalent)

We had already painted it when we moved in ten years or so ago, thisnis a repaint. Got Leyland floor paint.

Thanks, I think I need a long handled one, and does the sponge need to be foam not fluffy?
