Great thanks. Can I ask, were you first/last off the plane? I'll be ok sat in a wheelchair but if we're last off, the whingeing from my teenage son may be unbearable! 😂

Book it at all the airports you are using - it's a long walk to the gates! I had assistance at Glasgow/Gatwick/Orlando in 2015 and it was amazing; such helpful people. I already have it booked for Glasgow/Orlando for this year. I also have issues from cancer treatment and bad arthritis so this service is really essential to my travel plans!

When we had assistance for my mum we were last off the plane (which makes sense), but at immigration they took us via the US queue, so we ended up skipping the long queue. Not sure if this is the norm, but did make it a an easier experience overall.

Thanks, that's really helpful. It's the not knowing how I'm going to be which is causing me problems. I don't want to use it if I don't really need it!

Definitely book it. However make sure you contact the airline asap and book it, we have had problems in the past where the airline has put down the wrong type of assistance required and it's best to have time to fix these things (most airlines need 48 hours at a min to change it)

We were last off because we chose to sit at the back. When you ring Virgin ask if the special assistance they are providing/requesting will pick you up as you get off the plane and take you all the way to your hire car. TSa cares did this for us and was fantastic. Not sure if the assistance sorted out by the Aircraft does this. :-)
