DVC Travelex Insurance - UK Resident

The question of Insurance to somewhat cover 'costs' associated with a lost vacation arose a few days ago.
I said I would research and post my findings.
This is the E Mail response from Travelex to me

Thank you for your interest in Travelex Insurance Services.
In regards to your question(s), Disney Vacation Club policies are available to United State residents and non-citizens.
This plan is available for view on our website at. disneyvacationclub

So I decided to research further on the DVC website. If you go into 'Plan vacations', then 'Things to do' you will find a link to the said Insurance policy. If you click on that the following is right at the top.

Who Is Eligible For Coverage
A person who has arranged to take a Covered Trip,
pays the required plan payment, and is a citizen or
resident of the United States of America.
The plan is also available to non-U.S. residents for
travel to the U.S. (if the plan is purchased through
Disney Vacation Club)

So in conclusion a UK resident is covered.

Geoff. The advantage of being retired and having time on my hands! Would never have had the time when I was working.

For $89 per use year it's something I'll defo add on. My points are worth so much more if I lost them due to cancellation.

Points 160 dues approx £650. $89 covers your points per use year from my understanding. So if I needed to cancel I could get them returned to me?

I need to look into it further.

Ali. You and me both!

Just to clarify for others Caron is right in her interpretation ref cost recovery
For example I have 10 weeks worth of Points per annum for a Studio in SSR. If I booked a 10 week stay in one hit but then couldn't go and the Points expired from 'holding' then all I would get back would be my Annual Dues.
Better than nothing but not enough to rent 10 weeks of Points from Daves etc - more like 3 weeks I suspect!

But, for $89 it's something, which is always better than nothing!
