Cpap
My 10 year old daughter has recently moved from an NPA to a CPAP machine. I'm just wondering if the difference in voltage will make the machine less effective? Also, is there a socket near the beds at POR for me to plug the machine into or should I take an extension lead?
TIA. |

I can't speak about location of sockets but we've taken 2 CPAP's and used them in a villa with the adaptor. Not had a problem with them.

power-wise, there is no issue with the current in the US, as long as your CPAP machine states that it will accept 110v-60Hz. Look at the plate on the power supply or on the machine, if you see something like 100v or 110v and 60hz (as well as the UK power ratings) you're good to go
be aware that you will need to take the machine out at the airport to clear security. at POR, you will find mains sockets behind the night stand between both beds. there are at least 2 mains sockets there. they are getting rid of the alarm clocks so that's one more socket to use. they will be US sockets, so you'll need a US adapter try to keep it a small adapter (not the large ones with built in USB ports and multi country plugs) because the weight of those things will often get them disconnected from the wall. On a few trips (at POR or elsewhere on disney property) I had to push that night stand all the way back, so it held the adapter in place. That was quite a pain now I have gotten rid of the adapter. My CPAP has a 8 shaped plug, so I bought a cord with a US plug on one side, and that 8 shaped plug on the other (ordered off amazon) looks like this (check what kind of plug your CPAP uses) that's a fair alternative to US adapters and don't cost much Edited at 04:35 PM. |
