Chamging Terminal in Heathrow
Hi All. We are flying from Heathrow on 20th Jan to Los Angeles. Just realised that we have to change from 5 to 3, we have approx 2 hours between landing at Heathrow with BA from Glasgow and departing with AA. Is this doable? OUr whole trip is Heathrow to LA to LV to NY. Cannot wait! Although flight changes are becoming tiring already!
Thanks in advance for any info. |

Yeah, that's doable. I take it you are on a through ticket, with your bags checked at Glasgow for LA. If so, you don't have to exit through the baggage & customs area, just take an escalator down to terminal transfers and you will be put on a bus to T3. You'll stay airside. There's a slower way to do it, but you have to go landside. Many a time we've come off bleary-eyed from a transatlantic flight and followed "arrivals" instead of "transfers" and found ourselves landside and having to go back through security. I think you might have to do security again in T3 when you get off the bus, but it can certainly all be done in 2 hours.

With both flights on one ticket, that’s more than enough time. The Minimum Connecting Time for this connection is 90 mins. Just follow the purple Flight Connections signs when you get off the domestic flight in T5, and take the bus to T3. You will have to reclear security at T3.
It would not be advisable to try this if GLA-LHR and LHR-LAX were on separate tickets, especially with checked bags. |

Ah yes, the word is "connections" not "Transfers". No wonder we ended up landside

Thanks for the replies. We aren't actually on a through ticket for this one. Our trip was booked as a multi city deal and on the BA website we couldn't start the booking in Glasgow.
I have just changed our Glasgow flight to coming down the night before and booked into one of the airport hotels. Much less stressful I think and no charge to change the flight |
