528 and 482 From MCO
Hi.
Does anyone know how many tolls are on this route from MCO to International Drive? We are going to Rosen Inn International. On Google maps it shows the names of the roads as "McCoy Road and then W Sand Lake Road. I have used this route before, but can't remember how many tolls there are, and how much we need in change. (Need to make sure I don't just have $20 bills ) (I never use the Sunpass) Thanks James |

Never use the 528 north exit from MCO I'm afraid. Think there's only one on the 528 which is manned so you'll be safe giving them a $20 bill. Ask for change and they'll give you some quarters in case there's an unmanned one further on.
Pity you hadn't asked about the 417 south exit. Mick

Hi Andrea - try THIS toll calculator site. I'm with Gadgey Mick, we overnight with friends for our first/last night afore driving to SW Fl and find the 417 easier and faster.

Andrea (or James!), as you are going to the Rosen Inn International which is near the junction of I-Drive and Sand Lake Road at the northern end of I-Drive (north of the SR528) I would ignore the advice to use the SR417 which sends you well of out of your way much too south.
The shortest route is as you proposed - go off the SR528 at Exit 8 (only a few hundred yards after joining it at the airport) then go straight down Sand Lake Road. Since you were looking at GoogleMaps, turn on StreetView and then you can see the road signs - they say the toll is $1.25. You can also see the unmanned toll booth on the exit ramp where a $20 bill is no good to you. The Streetview photos seem to be from 2016, so just a chance the toll might have gone up a bit since. Edited at 09:01 PM. Reason: name change |

Ian - Gadgey Mick and I weren't advising Andrea should use the 417, rather saying we aren't 528 au fait as we use the 417, hence why I posted the toll calculator website

We always use the sand lake route, only one now unmanned toll. Think it was $1.75 earlier this year

Thanks for the help Mick.
I looked at the 528, but wasn't sure how may tolls there were on it. I think we used that road the very first time we went to Orlando. (Did'nt plan to, just managed to get ourselves lost. Took us over 3 hours to find our way to the hotel that time) |
