I don't usually offer drinks or biscuits, DH on the other hand would offer a 3-course meal!

I always offer a drink when they arrive, and then every couple of hours. My husband is a chippy, and really appreciates when people offer (he doesn’t always accept as he has his flask). I know it’s really appreciated in the summer.

We recently had an extension, and the sparkies and plumbers were guys he works with, so they also got sausage sandwiches (not something i’d normally provide!)

We had two guys in today and they did about 2 hours work and we offered them tea
If tradesmen are here all day then I usually offer first thing , around lunch and then later in the afternoon.

If workmen are here all day, I’ll normally offer a drink morning, lunchtime and mid-late afternoon if I happen to be around.

I had someone come out to emergency check the gas as the postman smelled a leak, and once he gave the all-clear I offered a hot drink which he declined.

If I have trades people in then my mum comes to look after them as I work full time. She is legendary and I am advised by various trades she bakes a cake a day for them, sometimes two in case they don’t like one and basically drowns them in tea and coffee and talks them to death! On the odd occasion I’m here I will offer a cuppa on arrival then every couple of hours as that’s when I’d be at the kettle anyway feeding my tea habit. They all love my mum 😍

When we had builders at our house building our extension June to September we were in our house to the end of July we usually offered the builders a tea/coffee when they got there and gave them squash with water and ice every hour as it was so hot. After we moved out as they knocked walls down in our house we put tea and coffee out but they didn’t touch it.
