Change.

Been here just over a week,

every day when I come back to the villa I put all my change on the dresser.

Today I thought I'll have a count up of that.

$47.75 in quarters
$32.60 in tens (dime?)
$19.85 in fives (nickel?)
$6.02 in pennies

And then because I don't like carry a bundle of cash I leave the small bills to one side.

$138 in $1 dollar bills
$65 in $5 dollar bills

I can see another visit to Victoria's secret on the horizon.

Wow! I do find it crazy how the change builds up out there as everything ends up costing weird amounts once they add the tax.

Enjoy your shopping trip

If you saw the piles of shopping in the villa, you'd know how I got it.

Not to mention the food shopping, meals, gas, snacks etc.

Another reason for not using cash and paying everything by card

This year I brought home in change 47c and $180 in notes.

Aye, I know where you're coming from; I also use mostly cash. We use the spare rooms in the villa to store the shopping - great to have all that space in a villa. I keep a couple of $10s, some $5s and $1s and quarters for tolls, tips, parking, snacks and small purchases etc., but but try to pay with the correct amount or close to it, like I would do here. When the coins start building up, I make sure I use them first before breaking into more notes. I find it easier and quicker to pay cash for most meals out, and petrol; but for big shops in Wal-Mart and the outlets I tend to use my cc.

Anyhoo, hope you're having a blast.
