I would agree with keeping the later flight for now based on separate tickets, though of course the fare difference for a change on the day could be considerably more than £37 for four people.

Sorry just to be clear.

Did you book both flights together. IE. mCO to Glasgow or wherever, which happens to have a stop in Gatwick.

Or did you book as two separate journeys. Ie. You booked and paid for the MCO Gatwick flight and separately booked and paid for (separate booking reference number etc) the flight from Gatwick to Glasgow or wherever your on flight is?

Whichever it is would change the advice given.

Post #7 above by the OP confirms separate tickets and different airlines (though of course you can have different airlines on the same ticket).

Yes. I wasnt a 100% sure of the OPs interpretation of a through ticket so thought I'd ask.

same as the previous poster

It's still unclear to me if it's different tickets, or not

the OP says "different airlines, so different tickets"

what OP needs to clarify is, if they assume they're different tickets because they do not fly on the same airline, when they really have a through ticket

or if they made 2 separate bookings (and separate payments) one for each flight.

the OP's statement seems to imply an automatic consequcne (different airline so/hence different tickets, when it's not always the case. As you noted you can fly different metals on the same ticket.

@OP : how did you book. Did you do it in one go one payement, one "locator" (that 6 characters confirmation number you use on the airline's website) and have just one eticket number per person (in such case you're on a through ticket, even though different airline)

or did you book separately, and have 2 locator numbers for your bookings, and each passenger have 2 eticket numbers ? (in such case you need to allow extra time, and bag collection, and check in)
