We were told to go back to the start line at 7.15 and you just started as you passed the start line - no corals and no fireworks. They adapted the course slightly due to the time (apparently it was 2.6 miles but with all the going backwards and forwards we ended up doing more steps than I thought!) It was still raining heavily so we were soaked through but we finished!

Well done! What an amazing medal 😍 I saw on Facebook that the start of the race had been delayed due to the weather. Such a shame you didn’t get the firework send off and the weather was a bit naff, but still a great first 5k for you both! I can’t wait to do the Wine & Dine in October. Hope our medals are a lovely as yours!

Well done! Shame about the weather but you did it. Have you done any parks this weekend? Is it busy?

Having told hubby I want to do the Princess half, he’s asking if we can do Star Wars instead, but worry it would be mad busy.

We have been here a week and been to the parks every day. It’s our fourth time at this same two weeks and this year is definitely the busiest we,ve had.

Thank you for that - I think we will stick with the Princess weekend, although hubby has now got into his head the idea of dressing as a Princess for a laugh My efforts to push him more towards being Prince Charming aren't working

Hey everyone, I have just joined up and saw this thread and had to come say Hi!

Have been enjoying reading about all your running journeys, this sounds like a great place to come and get some encouragement!

I have just started running again this year and recently completed a 10K race end of March. Had a few niggles but as I had only finished couch to 5K that week, I assumed my legs were just not sure what was going on

I have been looking at signing up for the wine and dine this year and to do my first ever half marathon, as I will be out in Florida then but I keep putting it off. Mainly because I will be there alone (don't mind the running alone, just the before and after) and it would be my first Disney race, so not sure what to expect.

Looking forward to reading more, Happy running everyone x

So excited I have managed to get places in the 5K and 10K in the marathon weekend in January. Annual Pass Holders could sign up from 3pm our time today, I think that general sign up if from next week some time.

I have never run a 10k and to be honest only completed couch to 5K earlier this year. So I now have 8 months to get up to the 10k distance. DD has signed up for the Dopey challenge so 48.6miles over the 4 days.

Would likely spend more time at Universal than Disney, if that makes a difference.
Kate,

My daughter is doing this having completed the Princess Weekend a few weeks ago, she has signed up for the half marathon in DLP in September meaning she will get the Castle to Chateau medal.
I couldn't believe how much cheaper it was to enter the DLP races than the Florida ones.

Thanks for your reply Michelle. I know, they’re loads cheaper aren’t they!

We’ve booked now - flying into Orlando for 4 nights, over to LA to visit family, driving up the PCH, a couple of days in San Francisco and home. Flights were £319pp with Virgin including bags and seats which I thought was a bargain!

Just need to book our WDW hotel before prices climb. Gonna get a 1 day park hopper and 1 day water park ticket.

Hope your daughter enjoys Paris!

So I did it... I booked flights (thank you flight sale and airmiles ), hotel and the Wine and Dine running challenge!

This will be my first Disney race and first half marathon. Need to find a training plan as the furthest I have run is a 10k, a couple times.

Just wondered if anyone had submitted a time from a race over here?
There are only 10ks that are local to me before I need to submit a time, but just wondered if it is worth trying to do?

Many thanks
