just turned 12 dd - very rarely leaves her room , happily sits on her laptop chatting to her friends or goes out to see them. My 16 yo DS does spend a lot of time in his room - but Disney vlogs are "our thing" he and I spend hours watching them over the weekend when he's not working. We also let him subscribe to sky sports recently as he is an avid footbal and F1 fan - but thats on the main tv so he comes through to the sitting room to watch that too.
My DD 22 we rarely saw - she was either at dance school 5 days a week or she was in her room. its a phase they all go through and seem to need.
