Excited about Disney

No Disney Dining 2021?
What do think the chances are that Disney won't do free Disney Dining for new bookings in 2021? Given the amount of people that will be wanting to move 2020 bookings over to 2021 do you think Disney will need to offer it for next year especially given the 50th year will bring increased admissions anyway and the fact that they've probably lost so much money from being closed? Do they really need to offer it when so many people will still go and demand will be so high?
We're just waiting to rebook and are wondering whether we should just bite the bullet now or hold on and risk prices going up. |

With 25% unemployment currently in the US the chances of it being busy next year are slim.

I spoke to two different Travel Agents yesterday, one from attractiontickets and one from Travel Planners.
On both occasions, the Travel Agents advised that the only information they have is that if an offer such as Free Dining is offered, it would be when the parks reopen. Of course, nothing is official until Disney themselves say so. Disney should be announcing their planned reopening date later this afternoon (needs to be approved though) so it maybe worth hanging on to find out when that is at least! Edited at 12:05 PM. |

There's a bit pf a catch22 going on here. Lots of those who have moved bookings to 21 have done so with the anticipation of being able to "add" free dining later. If they don't offer it many of these bookings will cancel. If they do offer it all those bookings stay plus what would have been 2021 booking meaning they've got huge numbers!

I think the problem with free dinning is that Disney use it to sell out rooms. If they are looking to limit capacity, in both the parks and restaurants, not offering free dinning might really help them out. I cant see them offering it, until they can return to 100% capacity. No one knows when that will be.

I’ve been told direct by Disney I can add it later. If made available. I’ve got until March 2021 to take up that offer, or I’ll cancel and move the booking to a villa. I can see both sides as posted above, I don’t think they’ll need to offer dining, so to limit numbers. BUT money talks!

It would surprise me if they did announce it anytime soon.
They could well be operating on much lower capacity in parks and restaurants, and so the need to attract visitors in the numbers they usually do is not as important.
