Miami/Clearwater with Teenagers
We are thinking of doing something different for our next trip.
We want to spend the largest chunk of our holiday in Orlando, but are thinking of a few days over at Clearwater/St petes (coincided with a Busch Gardens visit) then a few nights in Miami before flying home from there. Im just wondering what both places are like. Is Miami safe to wander around? We will have our 3 boys 19,16 and 13 with us. I know my husband and i are going to love it, just not sure the boys will thank us for dragging them away from the parks planning 2.5 weeks to give us a few extra days. Thanks

Not sure about Miami but Clearwater is great to walk around. It has a laid back, surfy/beachy vibe and all the restaurants are very casual. It can be very busy but we love it

We've done both and our kids had a great time. Going back to South Beach, DS will be 16 and DD13. We definitely wouldn't have wandered far on foot in South Beach but our
Two loved the beach, Ocean Drive and the amazing cars that cruise along. It was an amazing experience just to people watch.

Im pretty sure Clearwater is right up our street. A little unsure about Miami.
I liked the idea if Little Havana and South Beach. Maybe we will just do the one night before travelling home. Many thanks

Clearwater is lovely, we were still swimming in the sea as the sun set. We ate at Hooters which was far nicer than I expected it to be. There are loads of boat trips which get excellent reviews on here. We found some of the shops a bit tacky but didn't venture very far
