We've booked flights for last 2 weeks of Aug 2022
BA Heathrow - Miami
1 night in hotel in Miami before flying home(To make package)
Miami-Madrid-Heathrow
2 adults 16yr old and child
£3100
Villa and car hire booked separately.
Am hoping flights come down in price so we can cancel and re book into Tampa.

I’ve booked flights for late august but as the return is early September the BA cancellation policy is very different so although I also thought about cancelling and rebooking if there was a cheaper deal I’m not sure I’d be able to without loss of deposit - nothing is ever straightforward!

Please be aware that US schools do not all go back in July and August, many of the Southern states do but many others dont NY does not go back until September for instance, yes its not quite as busy as the beginning but it is still very busy and the weather not as good.

I’d add that BA flights for August have been available to book for awhile and prices have risen a lot and this was before the big announcement. Obviously no crystal ball but don’t see how prices will go down due to demand but who knows. Indirect flights may be the way. We are going from LHR to LA and then Tampa to LGW returning August 29th. Prices are currently £1400 more than what I paid a few weeks ago for 2 adults and 2 kids, bare in mind LAX I believe is a cheaper location to fly into than MCO so I dread to think what direct to MCO would be now for our dates.

Booked 16-31 aug virgin fly drive (won’t be taking their car as booking one separately, and the insurance in mega $$$)
4 adult, 2 teens economy classic both ways for approx £4000. Got a bit more off by cashing in some points.
One night around Miami then drive to Orlando.
