Since menopause my emotions have been really high. I cry at everything and nothing at all, adverts make me cry 😢 My anxiety levels are the same, I stress over the silliest things and build it up out of all proportion. DH has no idea what’s going on, and says the same as your boys If only it were that simple 😔

Soggy 😂 However, the veg are doing really well. We’ve been eating lots of homegrown lettuce, spinach and radish and our kale and carrots are ready to harvest too.
Sunflowers are budding but I’m not having much luck with any other flowers, lots of greenery but no buds. The strawberry plants I bought have taken well but they were planted too late for fruit this summer. On Monday I bought a half price giant dahlia which looked as if it needed some tlc, so I’ve repotted it and taken off the dead leaves and given it some plant food and it’s beginning to look much happier now 😀 I do love trying to rescue half dead plants 😂 |

Dahlia's are lovely but I never have luck with them, my grandad used to grow amazing ones
we ate all the lettuce and the potatoes , carrots still not ready and the tomatoes are a bit slow We seem to have a nightmare with slugs and woodlice, I don't like to put too much down to kill them due to the cats At least the water butt is full ! |

I love dahlias but I’ve never tried to grow one although I don’t seem to have a lot of luck with flowers in general.
I put silver shiny tape around the pots a few inches from the top. Apparently slugs can’t get a hold on it so can’t get to the plants. I don’t know if it works, but so far so good 😀 |

Veg looks great! My elderly neighbour phoned to say veg was available for me. Ended up with bag of new spuds, runner beans, round carrots and a cucumber. Dinner sorted tonight! 😁

Yes he is bless him. He's been growing so much veg plus rhubarb during lockdown to keep himself busy and is now sharing it with the Close. He won't eat any of it as he was widowed before Christmas sadly, and cooking isn't his thing. I cook the rhubarb for him and pass it back. He's made Angel Delight today and now knows not to eat the whole bowlful as he'd previously done! 😆
