The hotel that I’m booked with through BA has been closed for months and months due to the pandemic apparently. Wondering when it will reopen.🤔🤔

Not stayed but have has a drink there and it’s in a great location and a lovely hotel
Sadly it may not reopen. The view is that a number won’t, simply because business travel will never (or at least take years to) recover, and New York was full of business meetings before COVID. It’s a really good point you make as I’ve seen on a few threads here suggestions for hotels which have already said they won’t reopen. Definitely need to check.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn Times Square, as others have said, it was actually on the very outer edge of Times Square, so you literally came out of the front door and walked along the top edge of Times Square, avoiding the masses. It was handy for the subway, though we walked to most places.
I would stay there again as the rooms were pretty big, the shower was amazing and the whole place very clean. Times Square is probably something you only want to do once ( we went at 6.30 am on our first morning, not many about, the billboards are on all night! New York is the easiest place to find your way around, you can walk to most places, and as it operates a grid system , it’s so easy. |

Wherever you stay, make sure there's a subway station nearby!

The Rui - it was lovely - 5 mins from Times Square but just away from the hustle and bustle - it was so nice - lovely breakfast - nice modern bar aswell - would really recommend it was a really lovely modern hotel. Such a good location.
