I haven’t been for about 20 years so am assuming there’s been some change, but I’ve booked a 2 night break there for the beginning of March.

Any must do’s, things to see or recommendations of places to eat please?

Thank you ☺️

We love Betty’s. We went for dinner rather than the usual afternoon tea and it was lovely.

We also like Fountains Abbey which isn’t too far.

Other than that we just mooch around the shops.

Went to Betty’s in the holidays. The queue can be quite long so be prepared for that but the service is fantastic.

Here are some photos of the food from our visit. We also didn’t go for afternoon tea but chose sandwiches for lunch and had fries and chunky chips as a side.

So for two sandwiches, 2 sides, 1 tea, 1 house wine and 1 eclair the cost was just over £36.

I can’t really tell you much more about Harrogate as by the time we had lunch, it was dark. It was also raining. We had a little mooch around the shops and then headed home.

I’ll second Fountains Abbey. Lovely for a walk around.

I live in harrogate and would really recommend Lucia for a lovely Italian restaurant. I would also recommend popping over to Knaresborough if you have the time. Mama Doreen’s is supposed to be great for afternoon tea if you don’t fancy the queue for Betty’s 😊

Harlow Carr gardens are lovely and there’s a small branch of Betty’s there too. You can walk up to Harlow Carr from Valley Gardens.

There also the Turkish Baths if you fancy a bit of relaxation.
