And Brooklands.. awesome if you like aircraft including a Concorde, racing cars and motorbikes. Very close to Chessington and Thorpe.

We combined it with London. We had a few days in London first then drove up and stayed at the closet Premier inn, booked the first tour of the day and drove the approx 4 hours home afterwards. We managed to stay just ahead of the crowds and got pictures of empty diagon alley etc. You could easily do a day in London from Watford though. If only planning a weekend I’d drive down Friday night, spend Saturday in London then do first tour on Sunday and drive home.

This is right on our doorstep, like others have said can spend easily 5 hours if you want as so much to see, whipsnade zoo is lovely we are members and love spending a day there, however depends what time of year your going as gets very cold.

I live only a few miles away (still haven’t visited &#128514.
If you want something for just a few hours, you could go to lost jungle minigolf - ten mins drive.
Alternatively maybe visit st albans (they have a lovely cathedral, park, shops etc. there’s the Waffle House in the park which is good).
For a whole day, go to london, legoland, whipsnade zoo, Woburn safari park, or willows farm.
