This morning we had planned to go to Bob Evans for breakfast but when we got there, there was a massive queue. Time was of the essence as we had fast passes at Animal Kingdom. We had a pit stop at McDonalds instead which was also busy but we were served quickly.
McDonalds Took a very quick photo before everyone dived into their mcmuffins & mcgriddles For a fast food chain, my oatmeal and parfait were really nice Mahindi - Animal Kingdom We really like the jungle juice in Tusker House, but discovered they now do a frozen version in the park. We tracked this down to Mahindi - one of the outside stalls not far from The Lion King show. Thirst quenching and refreshing. Lush. You don't have to buy the souvenir cup. It's not advertised but without they cost $4.25. We sat in a small covered eating area just round the corner. Some of the others chose the Mickey ice creams. The cookie sandwich is always a hit. Wildside BBQ Bar & Grill We enjoy our firm family favourites but it's always good to try new places. My Dad loves BBQ's and spotted this whilst driving back and forth on the 192 so decided to give it a go. Lots on the menu but we decided to stick with the pit masters. Mr P and my Dad chose 3 options and shared these. Pulled pork, brisket beef and smoked sausage. Pulled chicken and beans Ribs Kids ribs Verdict. Excellent. My Dad was really impressed with the flavour and quality. The only negative was the aircon vents blew directly onto the food so we did eat fairly quickly so it didn't go cold. The positives included not just the food but also the service. Our server was far superior to anyone else we have encountered this holiday. For us the bill was on par with Millers last night, but there are more expensive options on the menu. Will definitely return. Candy Cauldron - Disney Springs We then went to Disney Springs. On a side note we saw the new drone show called "Starbright Holidays". Only lasted 6 minutes but we were really impressed with it. My Mum fancied a festive apple But the crowds and queues were intensifying so decided to leave it and come back another day. Twistee Treats If you read our first food report, you will know we have a soft spot for Twistee Treats! There is one on the 192 situated not far from the turning to Bahama Bay. You can't beat late night ice cream sitting outside in December! It was the busiest we have ever seen it. We had our beloved chocolate twirl with cookie dough and chocolate chips. This is the small and kids sizes?! Dads Twistee banana split Mums Hot fudge brownie boat My parents couldn't believe the portion sizes. We then had to roll them back to the car! Millers looks delicious and those ice creams from Twistee Treats are big portions 😍. Is it busy in the parks?

Mrs P is otherwise engaged so I'll respond.
From our arrival last Wednesday up until Xmas day, the parks weren't bad at all. We went into Epcot on Boxing Day and that was ok - busy, but manageable with good use of Fastpasses. We were in Animal Kingdom yesterday, and it was the busiest I have ever seen it on any of our trips. Took about 15 mins to get from parking booths to actually getting parked. Again, we made good use of fastpasses, and left early afternoon. Headed into Disney Springs last night for the drone show. We saw that and then left, as it was too busy to move around or browse the shops comfortably. Pretty much as we expected and we've tried to plan our fastpasses and park time accordingly. |
