The 4th July is our first proper day in Orlando after travel day and so we were in two minds about staying by the pool or biting the bullet and tackling a park. We are staying on International Drive and so decided to go to Seaworld, which is only a couple of stops on Iride. Weve booked the dining plan and quick queue passes as we know it will be busy. They are having a big firework display which we would ideally stay for, but if it gets too much were minutes from the hotel so it won't seem such a trek. I think wherever you are on this day it will be great

I'm torn between Electric Ocean 4th July at Seaworld if it is on next year or going somewhere "local".
I take it that MK EP and HS all have special 4th July versions of their regular displays?

To me, July 4th is best when celebrated in a small town, local atmosphere. I would do a search for celebrations around Orlando. For example, my town begins with a 5 K race and then a pancake breakfast. There is a parade at noon ( high school band, lots of kids march with a team/boyscouts/activity) and an all day midway (no rides just local entertainment and food) the evening is fireworks.
Nothing compared to Disney, but lots of local fun. Some places celebrate with firreworks oin the third. |

That sounds lovely. Oddly Disney are also doing a 5k run for the 4th... maybe trying to emulate that local feel. I think it might be at FW

We were there last year on the 4th and we went to Kennedy Space Centre. Not at all as crowded as we had feared.
