NY cabs - pay by credit card?

Hi, we're off to NY next month and are planning on getting a cab from JFK to Times Square. Can I pay by credit card?

Not planning on taking too much cash, as will put on CC and clear it on return, but wasn't sure about cabs?

When I last went a few years ago 90% of cabs seemed to take credit cards...

Hi we are just back from New York and yeah all the yellow cabs we went in had a card machine for back passengers. They all had a screen thing, a TV I guess to keep passengers entertained, and they had a swipe function for your cards.

I paid by card on the way back to the airport , I asked the driver if he wanted his tip in cash or added to the cc and he was happy for us to add the tip on the cc as well , all very easy and no problems
