Travel with neddles and glass ampoules
Having to travel with needles and glass ampoules for medical reasons; it will be my first flight since starting new medication a few months back.
The needles are a decent length (not diabetic needles). The glass ampules are sealed with 10ml liquid inside them. You have to snap them to open them. Is there anything special I need to know? |

I have carried a letter from my GP stating that I have syringes / needles for medical reason. I got one many years ago on the advice of VA when we were due to fly 2 days after the "needle incident". Ironically I wasn't asked for it then! I have always carried it since and I'm almost never asked to produce it. Once was a Gatwick getting on a VA flight to Vegas, once at Toulouse airport, and once at CDG.
It's very possible that they would have let me on anyway with copies of my prescription but I didn't have to rely on it. I would get one to give you reassurance personally.

Ditto to what Karen said! We have a letter from DD’s consultant saying she has to have this medication and that it must be in hand luggage (too cold in the hold). We also take the prescription. Only been asked for it once but it is reassuring that it it is there!
Do you need to keep the vials cool? If so a Frio bag is indispensable,
