Parking in Edinburgh
Hi guys,
We planned on popping to Edinburgh tomorrow for 4/5 hours on our way back from Inverness. However I’ve just seen it’s the fringe festival- how likely are we to get central parking? We plan on arriving for 2ish and leaving at 7pm at latest. We don’t want to be too far away but half of us is tempted to go to Glasgow instead because I lose my head if I can’t park and I’ll get in a huff! I’ve looked on parkopedia and spaces are available but at a cost of £20-25 each which is way more than we are prepared to pay. Thanks in advance |

Glasgow won't be any better with the European Games. On your best bet for Edinburgh would be the tram from one of the park and ride

Why don’t you park at the park and ride at the airport and then get the tram into town
Much cheaper and less stressful

The town is awful at the moment for parking. If you are coming in via the Queensferry Crossing from up north I’d be parking around Corstorphine/ Murrayfield for free and jumping on a bus for the last 5 mins. Much less stressful!

Thank you!
Want to try to avoid been far out if we can as we have a two year old who can be a little impatient! Park and ride sounds good though, if it’s easy enough to use! |

The Park and Rides at Riccarton or Ingilston will be a lot further out than where you will be able to park in residential streets.

Just having a think and if your taking a buggy, head for South Gyle Train Station and leave the Car there. Its a free Car Park as are the surrounding streets. It’s 8 mins on train to Edinburgh Waverley right in the centre of town. You won’t have to fold the buggy to get on the train but chances are you would on the bus.
