ADRs sound fab too, DDP is tricky with a toddler so I’d make sure he’s used to sitting and waiting as the characters come table to table and we found it hard to get our daughter at 15mths to understand this and my (now) 24mth old son would not sit and wait for characters or food. But I do think some kids are way better at this! Buffets are best! But I’d definately get him seasoned to eating out if he’s not already. This is where we failed I think as we don’t eat our much so mine don’t really understand/get restaurant etiquette. Also my son won’t use a high chair or a booster which means he can run off! So I think you’re doing the right thing with buffets and ones where they have games and are busy with other kids etc.

Totally recommend the baby joggers too, but if you are looking for a cheaper alternative, I reccomend a Joie Litetrax which can be picked up second hand really cheap, if you go for a 4 it comes with stuff like an integrated parent console which are so handy! I have a jogger and a Litetrax and they’re extremelly similar (same designer) but I prefer my Litetrax just because it comes with a bar as standard (you can then fix drink cup/snack holder to it very handy for little ones) and it’s lighter.

Backpack reins are awesome! Ive never heard anyone frowning on them, they are in abundance in the parks so don’t worry about that. We have Mickey and Minnie ones for ours!

One other tip I would give you, especially for walking toddlers is to label inside their clothes with their name your contact details. A CM manager told me if they find a lost child who isn’t wearing an ID band they check the back of pins (the badges but unlikely a tot will be wearing one) or clothing labels. I also put our hotel on. Also always strap them in the buggy as is so tempting to just pop them in going one attraction to the next. Sound common sense but they’re in and out so much it’s easy done. Trust me on how important these two points are, I learnt the hard way.
That’s a really good tip about the I.d. Band, I’ve just ordered one!

Great tip about a label/ID, will do something like that! It's so busy and they can slip away so quickly!

Going with a 22mth old in Oct so will report back too!

It’s scary how easy. My family were shocked he’d got away as I’m so vigilant usually and I’d got complacent about strapping him in between rides and shows. He was tired so I thought he’d just nod off but he was off.
It’s so easy done when you’re walking a few feet before getting them out and I’d never dream of not strapping him in here but we were literally going just a short distance. I’ve kicked myself ever since. You’d think you’d see it but they’re little master escapees. He, of course, found it hilarious! I found it traumatic.

That’s why we waited to ours was 4 years old. It was our last chance to take her out of school our only problem she was just under the 40in mark so had to enjoy some attractions on our own but still had a good time and we got to watch Wishes,Fantasmic and IllumiNations once and the Starwars twice as that was our fav nighttime show in 2016. Only IllumiNations started at 9 and thought with Fanasmic starting at 8 and starwars starting at 8:15 it spoilt the end of Fanasmic.
We didn’t go back early any night as my daughter was in bed most nights by 9 and was a wake by 7. Which is usually the same amount of sleep she gets In the uk.

What type did you order?
Found this on John Lewis which seems good for 2.50?

That’s the one we have I just got it from Amazon. I like it as the details are concealed, there’s more than one slip and kids like them as they’re soft. You’ll need a perm sharpie for it though as the insert is kind of plastic.

Thanks! I've ordered that one (if anyone else is in the market, direct from little life worked out cheaper as free delivery, just 3.99)
