By the way we weren't speeding, service vehicles with lights flashing and sirens sounding can go 15mph above the speed limit with police approval which we had and I'm quite happy to discuss this privately if you wish

Quick update. Received paperwork in post this morning with the offer of a fine and points of a speed awareness course.

A fine and points would have meant sending my licence away with no guarantee of a return before we fly to Boston on September 7.

Course will be booked for when we return at the end of September.

Can now relax as the last week has been rather stressful!

Could you opt to do the course instead? You have about 5 months to do that.

You say " she was just round the corner" they gave to give you at least 1/4 of a mile on a straight run.

Glad you have it all sorted now, I too booked my course this morning decided to do this instead of my original thought of taking the fine and points. So off to the classroom for me then for four hours !
