Spit trip

Hello!

So we head out back to Orlando next August for 3 weeks; however, this time, we're doing something a little different.

We usually stay in a villa for the whole duration of our holiday, however this time we are spending our first week in the club rooms at Loews Royal Pacific Resort with 7 day tickets for Universal, Sea World and Busch Gardens. Then we are spending the rest of our stay in a villa where we have 14 day park tickets for Disney.

Even though we have been several times before we have never planned a stay like this so I feel like it's all new! Usually if we miss anything we can plan to go back later in the holiday but this way we don't have that same flexibility. Also we have never stayed in a Universal resort.

Any tips and tricks would be more than appreciated!

Thanks x

Tips for RPR:

Breakfast buffet not cheap but good. Occasional treat maybe. Cheaper options on citywalk include starbucks and cinnabon for breakfast. IoA croissant moon, Universal the boulangerie as you walk in on your right.

Walk from hotel to Citywalk/Universal parks is about 5-10 mins, water taxi similar depending on wait times - walking can be faster. Nice walking path too. I enjoyed the stroll on an evening. Watch out for hanging spiders though! :P

Room key is express pass. Good on almost all rides except the virtual queue ones. Unlimited rides of each attraction included. Will get you round the parks at a nice pace. Relax and enjoy the scenery. Hit harry potter first, then do your thing from then on.

Good cheap option for dining at citywalk is the panda express/burger king/moes southwest grill food court thingy near the cinema upstairs. Lots of staff use it, good quality and cheap food if you need to watch the budget. Fed 3 adults for $40. Lot of food and soft drinks for the money.

Can't give you any tips about club room as didn't stay club, but bula bar near pool looked to have good quality and large portions for an onsite bite to eat.

Pool nice, shallow but plenty of deckchairs. Ducks occasionally hang out there. Fun to watch. Very nice temp.

Lovely ambience to hotel - peaceful and relaxing during the daytime, don't be afraid to come out and take an hour to chill from the parks. We will be trying the bar this time I think. They have some great sounding drinks.

Might be worth stocking up on snacks and drinks for the hotel. They sell them in the onsite shop but they aren't cheap. Much cheaper from a Walmart etc. If you have car this is what i would advise, we don't so have to make do.

I'm sure I've forgotten lots but there is a few things. Don't know how much you will need them but there they are. Absolutely loved our stay at RPR last year, couldn't believe it when we got upgraded again this year to the same resort. You will have a blast.

If you're staying Club level I think you will get breakfast and have access to the Club lounge for drinks and snacks etc so no need to stock up. Enjoy!
