Universal studios AP parking question

So we are thinking about upgrading to annual passes at universal when we go next month. One of us would get the preferred pass to get free parking. So on the first day we get there we will pay for parking as usual, then go to the kiosk to upgrade.
However it says on the website free parking after the first day of use. So if I go back the next day with our AP will we then have to pay for parking again as it is our first day using the AP?
So effectively will have paid for 2 days parking?

You only have to pay for the first day. The next day and all others will be free.

Go after 6pm to pick your pass up as it's free parking, activate them and then you are good to go

Oh yea, we're going when HHH is on tho so no free parking! Unless we go after, 10pm

Can you just go to pick up the passes when HHN isn't on? Otherwise you have to pay to park the first time

If you upgrade on city walk before going into park then use ap to enter you will have activated it so all days after will be free parking? Or if you need to upgrade in park exit then re enter to activate AP.
