We stopped at Kotor on a cruise last month and it was stunning.

Hi

We went at the end of September/ beginning of October last year and we absolutely loved it, but just a couple of things to think about...

We had a car which made it very easy for us to visit all the tourist places there, we went all over, it’s probably one of the most stunning places I have ever been, but my friend has just been and she was using buses and found it difficult to get around.

The weather was lovely in the day, really sunny and warm but at night it was very chilly, definitely cardigan or fleece weather. And also it is surrounded by mountains so you end up loosing the sun about 3pm each a day.

It’s fantastic for eating out, it’s very cheap too and there are some beautiful towns to visit, there was a place called Black Lake which was breathtaking.

The people aren’t the friendliest, but that doesn’t make any difference to me, and as another Dibber posted the driving is absolutely the worst I have ever experienced in any place, seriously they were unbelievable!

But if you wanted to it’s very easy to visit Croatia and we also visited Bosnia while we were there. We stayed in a gorgeous airbnb just outside of Kotor.

I would absolutely go back in heartbeat, it’s beautiful and if you have any questions please ask away!

If you are still unsure have you considered Croatia? We are going back for the third time end of Sept this year to Split. We have been to Dubrovnik and Pula and would highly recommend Croatia.

Thank you for your reply, most informative. We have been to Dubrovnik and loved it but found it very expensive. I am worried about the weather in Montenegro. To be honest wasn’t expecting another holiday and only went to Orlando last month! I think we are now looking at Majorca and found a good price and we can combine lazy days with trips to Palma. Will definitely consider for future holidays but earlier in the year.
