Positive 10 days before flying

My son has tested positive on lateral flows x2. Started feeling poorly yesterday which means isolation ends Mon ... we Travel to airport hotel on Tues for Wed flight.

Pcr booked for the morning...im crying!

I hope he gets better soon. I tested positive for six days on LFT. It should clear fairly quickly. The nhs vaccine proof (if he�s on it) will freeze out for ten days from the positive pcr test, regardless of when symptoms started. Mine stayed suspended past my official isolation date.

Also in my experience, if you log the LFT it�ll tell you to isolate for ten days from the test date rather than than when symptoms started, so don�t do that if he�s getting a pcr.

Oh no, that's the dreaded scenario we're all hoping to avoid. The 10 day isolation period starts when symptoms started so you will be ok to travel. Hope all goes well and everyone remains healthy.

Is there no way you can amend your booking/flights and fly out in a couple of weeks? I know with work, annual leave and everything it can be hard but perhaps try. You will enjoy your holiday more when your son is better.
