Where is the best place to stay?!
Always been a WDW kind of family visiting nearly every year as children and a trip booked this year. But thinking ahead to 2021 we are looking at something different, definitely a DCL cruise leaving from the west coast around April/May and spending a week to be close to Disney and the other sights. I priced up a Disney hotel for this year as an example but found them to be very very expensive. Does anyone have advice for where else is a good place to stay, what areas and what hotels? We are a family of three with our daughter being 3 when we travel.
Thank you x |

Disney hotels in California are expensive as they are limited. There are far more good neighbour Hotels within walking distance (some closer than the Disney hotels).
I would look at staying in Anaheim in a good neighbour hotel. Disney is 2 parks and with a 3 year old you will probably want 4 days there to be able to break it up. There is also Knott's Berry Farm theme park a 15 minute Uber away for another day if you would like another park. If you want to do Universal and Hollywood then this is north LA and 60-90 minutes each way. Because of this most people do two location stays with Hollywood or Burbank being options. Universal is a one day park and unfortunately you won't be able to do the Warner Bros Studio Tour as there is a minimum age limit there. |

Definitely have a look at the good neighbour hotels on the Disneyland website. We stayed at Country Inn & Suites and it was perfect for what we wanted. Decent pool, basic breakfast, 15 minute walk to Disney and we could see the parks/fireworks from our hotel room. Its changed names/ownership recently after having a quick google, but I'm sure it's still good. We booked on the Disneyland website, which meant we didn't have to pay the resort fee at check in. It was a very reasonable price; we paid around the same price as the motel style places slightly closer but our hotel was much nicer in terms of style and amenities. There are plenty of good neighbour hotels nearby that can fit in whatever budget.

We are staying at the Best Western park place & suites in Anaheim which is super close to Disneyland before a 7 night Disney cruise from San Diego next April.
The hotel is a great location but also fairly priced and has breakfast included. |

We stayed there as well in August last year. Great hotel and location as it is a 15 minute walk to Disney, but also right opposite the Garden Walk precinct for shops and restaurants.
It is now The SunCoast Park Hotel - Tapestry by Hilton. If is very modern and well refurbished. Has a pool and hot tub for relaxing. So provided its still as good as when it was Radisson owned then highly recommended. tripadvisor/Hotel_...alifornia.html |

we tend to stay closer to Knotts as you can get some cheaper prices and it tends to be free parking, Disney is about a 15/20 min drive from there
