First notification from Disney re new Riviera Resort - Taken from WDW Magic 16/7/17:

'Disney has today announced plans to build a brand new Disney Vacation Club Resort near to Epcot called Disney Riviera Resort.

The new resort will open in the fall of 2019, featuring 300 accommodation units, and linked via the new Disney Skyliner gondola system.

Disney Skyliner will connect the new Disney Vacation Club property, Disney’s Art of Animation, Pop Century and Caribbean Beach resorts with Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the International Gateway at Epcot.'

So. I fired off an email yesterday to both
disneytraveluk@disneyonline.com and
disneytraveluk@disneyonline.com

Really just asking why so much construction is going on that is undisclosed to future guests. Asking for honesty and clarity about the works and what kind of state I should find the resort in come September.
I commented that I wanted my email to be treat as a complaint as I am sick to death of basic emails saying everything is magical and CMs that know less than my 9 year old. I was polite though.😊
Let's see if I get anything more that a generic email and who replies first.

Just caught up on the last few pages Of the old thread! Here we go again 🙁 . We haven’t got any flights booked yet anyway, but have cbr booked again for 21st August which was apparently just after the food court was due to open. Thought second time lucky!

I knew there would still be construction going on but the foodcourt is important to us (and why we moved last year). So I wonder if they’ll be offering compensation again lol.

I’m sure when we booked they had already announced the mid August opening... anyone know when that was?

I know lots of people said it didn’t affect their holiday last year and they still had a great time but then they also had £50 off per night or $75 to soften the blow (or $75 + $75 or $75 + £50 lol).

Can’t believe nearly a year on we’re back here again.

We’ve unfortunately booked with Orlando attractions this year so can’t call Disney this time, will have to just see how it all pans out 🙁 .

Is it just people who have booked through Virgin Holidays that are receiving this information? We've booked though Thomas Cook and haven't heard a thing about a delay with the food court.

Does anyone know the situation with the new mini food thing that was planned for the pirate area ... or was that just a rumour?
Just wondering if the pirate rooms might be a better idea at the moment, none of the vlogs I've watched seem to bother walking up there
