We flew from Manchester in 2013 and Gatwick last year. I’ve never been from Heathrow - is it easier to get to than Gatwick?

If you're happy to travel to London, then you'll get cheaper prices as there are more flights and competition. Direct, you're looking at Virgin, BA and Norwegian. Indirect, there are loads of options!

Thanks. I kind of have to fly direct - I’m a really nervous flyer so the thought of getting off one plane and onto another terrifies me. I don’t think it would be a great start to my holiday. Going from London is no problem so I’ll keep an eye out 👍🏻😊

We are near bhx , but normally fly from Manchester, it's only couple of hours away up M5/m6.then stay overnight in a premier in for £37.
Gatwick is similar time / distance away , so where ever is cheapest we go with in the end.

Yeah, the shed known as East Midlands airport. Like east midlands for the long stay car park was a 2 minutes walk just over road from terminal entrance. Doubt it still like that now.

So much easier than Gatwick. It’s an extra 30 minutes to an hour to Gatwick and sitting in traffic on the M25 on the way home is horrible. That being said, I’d sit in traffic all day if it meant going on holiday!

United used to go from Birmingham - Newark - Orlando, but as others say there's just Thomson left now.

We got a taxi to Manchester last week, it's a cheaper taxi fare than Heathrow and Heathrow is £200+ by taxi, train into London and back out or a 4 hour National Express bus fare. All very frustrating. I want my United flights back. Can't be bothered to do a hotel overnight or have to drive back when tired.
