Which Disney Resort for 1 or 2 nights?

Just after a little advice.

We are going back in July 2020 and will be there for somewhere between 3 and 4 weeks.

We have our villa booked and are considering having one or two nights on site at the start of our holiday. We are a family of 5. A couple, an 18 year old, a 5 and 3 year old.

As long as we all have somewhere to sleep we're not too bothered about the room layout and budget is not overly important at this stage within reason. Happy to book direct, with an agent or looking into renting DVC points if it's an option.

We will have 21 day ultimate tickets so it is likely I will not want to activate them so we have them up to the end of our holiday.

I've kind of ruled out YC/BC as we stayed there last year.

So where should we stay and why?

All depends on budget and what you are looking to get out of it! We did this on outer first trip with the kids- started at Bahama Bay for 2 weeks but included 2 nights at The Contemporary resort Webe since stayed at BC and POR and I wouldn't stay at Contemporary for a full trip- but for two nights, with the theme park view room it was brilliant.It was my youngest son 5th birthday so we had booked a chef mickey ADR for his birthday and then wondered over to MK for the day. If I was just staying a couple of nights again I'd opt for one of the monorail resorts to maximise the convenience 😀

Thank you. I think just looking for the best all round hotel... pools, things to do etc. Somewhere to relax and enjoy and most likely not doing any them parks at all for those couple of days

We’ve done the contemporary a few times fo4 1 night , great for walking to mnsshp and back , made it special on Halloween night . Gf because I wanted to stay there and it was beautiful and relaxing and weve stayed at which completely blew me away . We splashed out on a 1 bed savannah room and it did not disappoint . Akl won my heart so much we are staying there next trip.

Thank you. I have been looking at room occupancies and with there being 5 of us it is reducing the options slightly. A one bed Savannah view at AKL is definitely going on my shortlist!

We had 5 of us . We’ve had tower room contemporary, garden view contemporary both booked direct through Disney , gf was dvc points from a wonderful dibber and AKL was a dvc rent from a dibber again .

Thank you so much. That's really helpful. Bay Lake Tower is looking really pricey for the 1 bedroom option as Dave's says the other rooms only hold 4.

The GF is actually looking more sensible because the standard rooms have 5 as do the Poly.

The Contemporary standard garden or tower rooms all hold 5 and are very slightly bigger than GF.

Yes bay lake is only 4 , we got a garden room for around £280 from Disney which has the 2 queens and Murphy .
Gf we ended up with an adapted room and the bathroom was massive but it ate into the main room . We had a sofa bed and Murphy and queen and a small kitchen . The Murphy in the delux do hold an adult easily I’m sure you will love whatever you choose
