I wish I had seen this post 3 days ago - my family have been so happy that we had an upgrade, we thought it was because of the special assistance that we had requested.
Today we were told in no uncertain terms by Virgin that there was no upgrade and that Delta didnt have any rights to issue upgrades on their flight. :-( We fly direct to Miami on Saturday, with a return 1 stop (via JFK) flight home on 22nd April (which we werent really looking forward to! ).

Update
The booking info on Virgin's site has gone back to normal now, seats and class same as originally booked. Delta site still has the other plane but think this will update in a few days. Nothing gained but nothing lost either
