I was mislead by Sainsbury’s

The following is a true story based on an actual event:

Yesterday I bought 4 taste the difference rump steaks in Sainsbury’s and I mistakenly believed that they would taste better than standard steaks because they were taste the difference, but in actual fact when I cooked the 4 steaks last night 3 out of the 4 steaks were so fatty and inedible that most of them went in the bin. So in fact we could taste the difference from normal/cheaper steaks because they are better quality than taste the difference more expensive steaks.

I felt my world had fallen apart and I could never trust a supermarket ever again for misleading me, but my son contacted Sainsbury’s via twitter on my behalf and Sainsbury’s then agreed to send me a gift card for £11.25.

So I hope this thread is a warning to anyone who might also think that taste the difference means it will taste better.

Maybe you need more Northern food to expand your pallet so you ‘could taste the difference ‘ MH 😉

They are despicable people doing that to our dibber of the year and all round kind and generous guy. Mickey tbh Sainsburys are devoid of all moral worth for doing that to you, especially as you are retired after a long and hard working career and on a fixed income, I could rant more to this hineous crime against your good self but words fail me.

You’re lucky to get any steaks from sainsburys because when we went today they had no food! I hate steaks cooked at home they are always ropey, tried them medium/ well and medium and they are always disappointing. My daughter went for a meal yesterday and her friend had a steak costing £80! She tasted it and said it was nice 😊

How were you misled? They said you would taste the difference and you did. It's called clever marketing.
