The weather can be varied. One year I sat at Fantasmic in strappy t'shirt and shorts and the next year hat, coat and scarf. These cold days usually only last a day or 2 though. You will need to have a sweatshirt for the very early mornings and evenings.

We have been twice over Christmas and whilst not doing the water parks we did use the pool. Apart from one day when it was "so cold" the kids wore a hoodie, but still shorts the weather was great...certainly hot enough to both swim in he pool and sunbathe.

I've only been once at Christmas in 2005 and it was pretty cold. We could swim in the villa pool but only with the pool heating on full. our heads that were sticking out of the water were freezing and it was really uncomfortable. The locals were wearing proper big snow mittens and deer stalker hats and coats. I was really disappointed as everyone had told me I'd be wearing tshirts in the parks. I did infact wear my travelling outfit and coat for pretty much the whole fortnight! We were told that this was freakish weather and its never usually that cold, but its made me wary.
We are going this Christmas and I will make sure I take a more varied selection of outfits this time.

Went the one time and never again. It was so cold it did not feel like a Florida holiday. If I want to walk around in jeans and a jacket and just about scrape ice off the car windows in a morning I can save money and do that at home. Maybe we were just unlucky but it put us off every going in the middle of winter again.

Was it 2010? I haven't heard of any ice scraping any other year. Our hibiscus nearly died that winter but has never shown any frost damage since. Freezes in Central Florida are so rare they make the national news.

For us the sun and longer daylight hours meant we didn't mind a few cooler days.

It was a good number of years ago, so possibly yes. Not sure if it did actually get down to freezing but it was pretty close start of January.

Friends of ours arrived on Jan 2nd and had a very cold visit. We left that day and our previous weeks over Christmas had been fine.

It has put them off ever picking Jan again too!

We went in 2010 and one week of the two was arctic. Properly miserable. We did Discovery Cove on Christmas Day wearing wetsuits. It got to 70 degrees Fahrenheit in the middle of the day. It was bearable. Let me stress though we got lucky as several days we had winter coats, hats and gloves on and scraped ice off the car. It was mobbed as well. I would never do Christmas and NY weeks again.

We went a few years back and it was a mixture of hot days and cold days, I do think we had more cold days than hot and remember having to go out to the malls to buy some warmer clothes.
It was very busy, Magic Kingdom was full by 10am on Christmas day. I think if you plan and go knowing how busy it is and that it can be very cold at times, You will have a magical time.

We are seriously thinking of going next Xmas too on 22nd December, mainly just so we can see MK all done up for Christmas!

Slightly worried now though hearing it's so busy...
