We were at Blizzard Beach over Christmas and there were a couple of women wearing Burkinis so it should not be a problem

There were a few people wearing burkinis (no idea that's what they were called) at typhoon lagoon last August.

Edited at 11:33 PM.

My back and hip are covered in post surgery scars and I'm a funny shape due to spinal issues. I've given up covering but I understand your position. There are a few swim companies that do full length legs. I'll try and remember the names. A few of the girls use them at the swimming club.

Simply swim, Pro Swimwear, Wiggle ( mentioned earlier). A wetsuit may be too hot and cumbersome.
Check out Amazon too.

I found these.

OOOO "Clover Lewis" will try that one thank you! Don't know whether our M&S are just rubbish or small or what but not found one in there or any of the supermarkets. Husband had one idea that if I don't find one, there's bound to be mahoosive shops in FL that have them so might wing it and try that as last resort

You could also try ordering online from M&S.
Get a load delivered to try on at home, and then just return any that you don't like/don't fit to a local store.

Our M&S is pretty limited too and I've done this a few times with various things. The local store accept the returns even if it's not their stock.

Also, thanks to whoever mentioned Bohn swimwear further up - I think i'm going to get either a skirt or a pair of their leggings for wearing to Universal so I can do the water rides and not be soaked all day as swimwear tends to dry quickly.

I think the burkinis that M&S sell are online order only

You can pick-up wetsuit bottoms only and quite thin versions (1.5mm thickness) on Amazon for around £15-20.

That may be preferable to an all in one wetsuit?

These are the ones I mentioned in an earlier post. £15.99 seems reasonable too.

Decathlon also have individual fitting cubicles if you have one near you. We have the loose fitting uv t-shirts from there for wearing at the water parks as we go in July. Very cheap at around £5 each.

I would suggest nothing baggy or with buttons, zips etc as they can damage slides and you won't be allowed down. The 'lighter' the material the easier it will be. Leggings would be fine as they don't create too much drag in the water.
If anyone did approach you just say you have to cover for medical reasons and you will be fine. We never batted an eyelid to people in the full suits as normally they would have a reason. You just might find the lifeguards eyes following you a little more to make sure you are ok 👍
that is a very helpful post, thank you for posting.
