We've been to Naples beach today and it was beautiful, it's a bit of a drive but totally worth it. We didn't like Fort Myers beach either and are going to make another journey back to Naples before we go (also staying in Cape Coral). There are showers and a small kiosk selling pizza slices etc on the pier. Beautiful powder white sand and clear blue sea, also saw dolphins from the pier! Would totally recommend

We went to Naples yesterday and agree it was lovely, I was a bit disappointed though as didn't see any dolphins and was too cloudy for a decent sunset.

We use the beaches at Caspersen, Blind Pass and Manasota, all with good facilities. I'm amazed that you couldn't find a place to park at Sanibel.
