Flights changed

We are going LHR to Tampa via Detroit and back via JFK, and Virgin changed the flight times in August.

They were already tight connections, but when changed it allowed 95 mins in Detroit and 64 minutes at JFK!

So I rang virgin, they said the system allowed it so it should be fine, after I queried it stating the official connection times of 105 mins and 75 minutes they agree it may be a little tight :-(

So, they’ve moved our flights, now giving us 4 hours in Detroit and 3 hours at JFK!

Not too happy about our later arrival, and a lot of time to kill, but hopefully a lot less stressful now!

I feel your pain We had several changes to our flights in April. We were supposed to have 2 hours connection on return in PHL but it got changed to 4 hours and then to 7 hours! The only benefit to 7 hours (on return journey) was when we complained they offered us a free hotel to spend the time in - It defintely helped as we could give the kids a bath and watch a bit of tv and get a meal but 3 to 4 hours is a long time but not enough to leave the airport. I must admit though on the way in we had a 2 hour connection and just made it at the gate at boarding time so 3 or 4 hours may not be as bad as it sounds x

We can chill and stretch our legs, just means we get into Tampa now at 10.30pm so won’t get to Kissimmee until well past midnight!

Only small benefit is the new DTW to Tampa flight has us down as Delta Comfort + now, we were standard 🤔

I remember panicking about our delay before we went but at the time it wasn't so bad x
