No more Magic Bands For Free

In true Disney ‘upcharge’ style, they are scrapping free Magic Bands from next year.

People didn’t see this coming but we should have done- It’s classic Disney to start charging for something as an add on, then when they see people will pay, charge everyone.

So it seems the option to buy a ‘special’ Magic band now becomes the standard way you can get one if staying on site.

There seem less and less appeal to staying on-site now. It’s very sad indeed.

Our days of staying onsite at Disney are gone.

I know the cost of a magic band is not a lot on top of the cost to WDW but I object having to buy one. I am planning on booking Disney for over Ł5000, without flights. I do not have free dining anymore. They would get 14 days worth of food from me. And they can’t even let me keep the free magic band!

I think on top of everything else it’s a disgrace to take that away.

Some may still stick up for Disney, I love Disney, I will still love the parks. But some of these money grabbing business decisions are really pushing me not to stay onsite.

Yes but after about a year they won’t work long range for things like videos on 7 Dwarfs, but will still work for opening doors and paying.
