What age to take children?

WDW can be punishing but like everything it depends on the children. We have had more punishing DLP days because we are only there for 2 or 3 days so pack the time in.

In WDW get up early if your kids are early risers, spend 4 hours in the park, nap for 3 hours and back in for the last few. Or rise late, pool in afternoon and head in for evening. If you are taking a 7day+ ticket then use them accordingly, take it at a slow pace. Personally I would say 5/6/7 is the ideal younger age, only because it can be overwhelming and there is so much to do. Can it be done with younger kids? Of course it can! We go no end of grief from friends and family because we took a 9 month old on holiday to spain (Too young! You are being selfish!). It was so good and such a great experience we did another break the same year!

We have been with DD at ages 1.5 / 3 and 5 and every age she enjoyed for different reasons (characters / rides / pools) As said above we had lots of early starts and afternoon naps when she was younger - this time she'll be 8 and has already said she's not fussed with characters (saves me a packet on the character meals haha) There is literally things to do for all ages so no age is right!
