Do you think i would be ok on these rides with a bad back? A lot of jolting will aggrivate me.

I havent been to HP since 2012 so a lot has changed!

Are we foolish for not visiting these parks? I don't want to end up regretting it once we go home
There are only 2 rollercoasters that go upside down at these two parks (well, 3 if you include Rip Ride Rockit - even though technically it doesn't go upside down).

There are about three dozen other rides and attractions that are neither rollercoasters nor go upside-down at these parks.

Last time we visited we didn't go on any of the big rollercoasters but there was still plenty to do.

I would definitely recommend going to both parks- we go every year. I agree that Diagon Alley and Gringotts is even better than Hogwarts. It's best to book one night onsite so that you get early entry and front of line passes. Not all rides go upside down.

But the HP areas are stunning and put Disney to shame. You must have very high standards.

as mentioned before, quite a few of these rides are known for being jolty, including the likes of The Simpsons, Transformers etc. I know there are advisory notices in the parks. I assume there must be a way to access this info elsewhere so you can make a more informed decision.

Have to say, we loved the HP areas and were impressed by the attention to detail. They were by far our favourite areas. There is so much to explore and, for a fan, should not be missed.

Hello As I'm sure you've gathered from the above Dibbers that there are actually not that many rollercoasters that actually go upside down at US & IOA A point to mention to your second post, it depends greatly on how bad your back is. We visited in 2015 with my boyfriend and my family including my grandparents (aged 69-73) and despite my one grandmother suffering with terrible sciatica which causing he a ton of trouble in her neck, she managed the simulators like Transformers, the Simpsons, Spiderman extra. Her tip was that instead of 'fighting the motion' she just let her body 'go relaxed' and it didn't jolt her neck as much. My other grandmother also suffers with excruciating knee problems but also managed these. I think it's down to pain tolerance and personal opinion, so you may want to send someone on before you first to see if they think you can handle it, or maybe try and look at youtube videos (which is hard sometimes as simulators are dark), One ride I would avoid if you have back/neck problems though is the Mummy. I personally love the ride but it is extremely rough.

The Universal parks also have wonderful shows and a wonderful atmosphere too It's not all about the rides. I must say I strongly disagree with the dibber above regarding the Harry Potter areas as they were mind-blowingly accurate and original, I've never seen theming like it! To make the most of your stay it may be worth booking one night at one of the 3 premium on-site hotels to get free unlimited fast passes and a ton more privileges. It's a wonderful park Hope you have a fantastic time!
