Washer, drier combo
Does anyone have one?
Any you would recommend ? Any you would avoid? Our washer has decided to pack in ☹️ I really want a drier so by having a combo it would save space 👍🏻 |

They get a bad reputation, but we were supplied one in our new build, it’s an AEG so it’s a good one and I absolutely love it. It’s great to just pop on in the morning and come to it in the evening finished (though it can crinkle more than transferring to a separate dryer). We have a dryer in the garage but only really use it if we have a lot to get through in one day, the washer dryer works better with smaller loads more frequently.
Downsides are obviously if it packs in it’s a bigger expense, but it does dry well despite what I’ve heard elsewhere, I’d prefer two separate appliances side by side but for now this is working well for us. |

I have had one for the last 4 years,It’s a Hoover one and I hate it .
It never dries clothes on first go unless you put it on for the 3 hour cycle and even then it’s debatable which is ridiculous, all the fluff stays in the drum/seal which is hard to clean as no lint trap and it now takes me twice as long to do washing as I obviously can’t start another wash until the first lot has dried. |

We had one years ago. It took forever to dry the clothes. It could take 4-5 hours to do one load start to finish. Which wouldn’t be bad if you live solo or a couple but certainly would be a nightmare for a family.

My washer dryer has packed in this week too. It will be a visit to the launderette tomorrow ! Personally I would never buy a washer dryer again. It took too long to dry , you can't do another load in the washer until its done and it seemed to crease badly. I carried on using my white Knight dryer which I have had for about 20 years and hardly used the dryer on the combo one.

Not too good then.
We are a family of 5. So five towels every day, pj’s, clothes and underwear. Then 5 sets of bedding each week. So the washer gets an hammering. Usually 2 loads a day. So a separate drier is the way to go? |

We’ve got a Siemens one, it’s very good most things dry in 1 hr, we don’t have space to have both so it’s a good option for us.

Yes we had different ones for years and could not go with out one know. We live in first floor flat so no garden.

Had one in a rented house once it was a AEG was lovely as a washer so quiet but the dryer was naff and the obvious issue is you can't wash a second load while the first is drying really slowed my laundry turnover times
